Mount Mary Pinot Noir 2006
Wow. Wine of the year, and so late on! All my descriptors so far have implied a light wine - this is true, but there is slightly more weight than the usual Mount MAry Pinot, and a little more fruit on entry as well. This is no bad thing - all the incredible subtle complexity still resides thereafter - strawberry, red currant and raspberry fruit tones, with a lovely boney line of acidity and very nice rounded tannins that are soft and silkly, then a long long length of subtle power and grace all in one. Brilliant.

Or more probably it is because I want to savour it for longer than is really necessary. Nonethless, that leads to having teeth (and tongue!) being significantly purple when I am drinking red wine of any great colour.
