Why We Don't Wank?
Wine Without Wank is an Australian owned and run web site devoted to all things wine. We aim to fill the void of good information online regarding this topic - without resorting to snotty jargon!
Our aim is to be "content rich, but not content heavy". We don't think the average person wants to read a 10,000-word article on wine, so we won't be writing them!
Instead, we will be focusing on providing regular, quality information that is fresh, informed and unbiased.
And more importantly, without the wank.
Reviews & Corker of the Week
Our wine reviews will breakdown the wines simply and easily, with guides to the quality and value. We will also suggest our "Corker Of The Week" - basically, the best wine that fell into our laps in that week. Importantly, we will also give you hints on where to find the wine - an important point left out of so many wine reviews!
We also promise not to mention terms like malolactic, extract or carbonic maceration. But if you do find any terms we use that you need a quick definition for, you can look them up in our tasters glossary!
Ranting on Wine - features
Feature articles will focus on varying topics of interest with an alcoholic bent. Care to discuss government's revenue raising ventures in the industry? What about the ridiculous prices being charged for Bordeaux? Or maybe just looking for a good match with that lime crusted chicken recipe. Our features will aim to cover the field!
News
News will post simple headline stories affecting the world of wine. It is here that you can keep up with the moves of each player in the market!
Featured Cellar Door
Each month we will focus on a featured vineyard / cellar door to help you discover a whole family of wines that you may not know about, or to simply rediscover an old favourite.
Baptism By Vine
Want to know some information about how wine is made? What the main grape grown in Alsace is? And, what the heck is a Spatlese anyway? Head on over to Baptism By Vine and find out all that stuff that wine tossers like to show off with.
Messageboards
Of course, our Messageboards have an ever-growing community of people keen to discuss the various merits of their favourite fermented liquid substance, or to pass on information about how to get rid of that pesky mold in your basement cellar. So feel free to join in - we'd love to hear from you!
Thanks for visiting & we hope to see you again soon!
Cheers
Ian Robertson
