3 Bottles of Two Hands - $100,000 dollars, please!
Written by Ian Robertson on 12th February 2007
Three bottles of Two Hands - Barossa Valley Ares Shiraz, Aphrodite Cabernet and Aerope Grenache - went under the hammer in a charity auction in the US for US$100,000. (Aus $130,000) The auction is a famous charity auction, the Naples Auction, held in Florida. Two Hands Wines’ co-proprietor Mr Michael Twelftree said he hoped Two Hands Wines’ involvement in the Festival would help to build Australia’s reputation as a producer of premium quality wine. “We are thrilled our wines attracted such significant bids, as the funds have gone to a very worthy cause assisting under-privileged and at-risk children,” he said. “At the same time, it also provides excellent international recognition of Two Hands Wines and the calibre of Australia’s premium wine regions. “Two Hands Wines prides itself on being a luxury wine brand, with our Flagship series made from the very finest selection of Shiraz, Cabernet and Grenache from the Barossa Valley. “Our Ares, Aphrodite and Aerope are selected from our very best barrels as the ultimate expression in regional and varietal definition, sourced from what we believe to be phenomenal vineyard sites." Your local Liquorland may struggle to stock these wines for you to try though...
