Rolland Drops 20 Bordeaux Properties

Written by Ian Robertson on 12th February 2007

Controversial wine consultant Michel Rolland has dropped some 20 Bordeaux properties from his list of clients reports decanter.com.

Rolland, one of the principal figures in 2004's documentary Mondovino, has dropped the clients due to workload as he nears the age of 60.

Among the clients who are no longer on his list of over 130 from all over the world, including properties in India, Australia, Chile and Argentina are Chateaux Kirwan, Citran, Malescot, Camensac, Branaire in Poujeaux and Fieuzal.

Rolland was depicted in Mondovino as contributing to an industrialisation of wine, and a global "dumbing down" of terroir based influences.
