Seignouret Frères Loses Out To Thieves

Written by Ian Robertson on 26th February 2007

Seignouret Frères, one of the oldest negotiant houses in Bordeaux, has suffered the theft of over 3,000 bottles of wine.

The wine was mainly the prestige names of the Margaux area from the 2004 vintage - grand cru classé wines consisting of Lafite-Rothschild, Mouton-Rothschild, Latour and others.

The thieves are believed to have been working with inside information as there was no sign of a break in, the stock had only arrived a few days previously, and they would have needed some time to remove over 250 cases.
