De Bortoli Sacred Hill Traminer Riesling 2004
Made by De Bortoli in Australia.
A Semi-Sweet, still, white wine with 11.5% alcohol tasted on 21st Feb 2005.
Grape: Riesling Traminer
Quality: Below Par
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $3.99 - $5.99.
Looks: A light, lemon green.
Smells: Penetrating violets, ripe ripe rockmelon.
Feels: Light
Tastes: Sweet sugar and confectionary with a bitter, sour apple acid twist on the mid palate and finish. The wine is all bombast...nothing subtle here.
Too much saccharine, not enough fruit, even for diehard sweet-tooths. Hard to get through a whole bottle.
Possible retailers: Theo's, BWS, Woolworths Liquor.
