Yelland & Papps Delight Vermentino 2011
Made by Yelland & Papps in Australia (region: Barossa Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 11% alcohol tasted on 25th Sep 2011.
Quality: Okay
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $19.95 - $19.95.
Looks: Clear and bright, with strong green flashes
Smells: Vegetal on the nose with strong freshness - nothing stale about the tone at all
Feels: Light
Tastes: Vermentino is the grape - you wont come across it often. Mostly known for Italian wines, particularly Sardinia, it is handled well for something fresh, zippy and different here. Very very acidic and gripping, with good length and a real vegetal character. Some will struggle - others looking for something different will enjoy.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site.
