Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon 2002
Made by Moss Wood in Australia (region: Margaret River)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alcohol tasted on 22nd Nov 2006.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Ouch!
Cost: Usually between $95.00 - $110.00.
Looks: Medium to full body, with a lovely black purple colour.
Smells: Blackcurrant and cassis, very slight fresh herb and eucalypt
Feels: Medium to full bodied
Tastes: This is one of those wines that proves my point about always having two glasses of a wine I want to rate. My first glass, this wine was certainly in the VERY GOOD class. It had lovely freshness, solid black fruit, nice solid chewy tannins. But the second glass? Oh wow! It just grew and grew in my mouth. Its mouthfeel and tannin structure kept developing and developing...the length getting longer and longer...and the flavours rounder and rounder. By the end of the bottle, I was stunned. Man, what a wine!
