Framingham Classic Riesling 2001
Made by Framingham in New Zealand (region: Marlborough)
.
A Off-Dry, still, white wine with 11.5% alchohol tasted on 1st Jan 2007.
Grape: Riesling
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Very Good
Cost: Usually between $16.99 - $18.99.
Looks: Light in body, with a gold colour that is just tending to deep
Smells: A mix of heady floral tones, iron flakes and a hint of petrol
Feels: Light
Tastes: This is a ripper. Intense, long finish with a fantastic balance of acidity and sweetness from a little sugar left in the wine. It is developing quickly, so there is a hint of petrol and an aged character. Tropical fruit mixed in among everything else, this is a wine that just keeps on giving. May not last much longer, I don't think it is an ager, but it does not matter - it is so good now, just drink it up!
Possible retailers: Nick's Vintage Direct.
