Fox Gordon By George Cabernet Tempranillo Barossa Adelaide Hills 2005
Made by Fox Gordon in Australia (region: Barossa Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alcohol tasted on 20th Oct 2007.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon Tempranillo
Quality: Very Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $23.00 - $23.00.
Looks: Red purple, dark and full - lots of colour sticking to the glass
Smells: Nice round cherry plums and cream on the nose
Feels: Full bodied
Tastes: Very juicy plum and cherry fruit that is quite intense and mouthfilling, with a hint of smoke and spice. Finish introduces dark olives. This is a beast of a wine, but it is so well constructed that it is a pleasure to drink. Remarkably good. Some might question where the earthy Tempranillo flavours are in the balance - I don't care a jot, this wine is lovely.
