Jacob's Creek Chardonnay Pinot Noir Brut Cuvee NV
Made by Orlando in Australia.
A dry, sparkling, white wine with 12% alcohol tasted on 6th Nov 2004.
Grape: Chardonnay Pinot Noir
Quality: Below Par
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $7.90 - $12.90.
Looks: Bright gold, with quite a large set of bubbles on it!
Smells: Yeast, yeast and more yeast. Oh, there is also some green grass and citris notes.
Feels: A medium light body, heavy for a sparkler, with a large loose bead.
Tastes: Citris acid gulped up by bready, yeast flavours. The tastes builds in the centre of your tongue, creating a real "humpy" sensation. This is a bit of a disappointment, as this is usually a strong performer - but at present, there are better options.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Theo's, BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Liquorland, Porters, Dan Murphy's, First Estate, Kemeny's.
