Giaconda Chardonnay 2001
Made by Giaconda in Australia (region: Beechworth)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 13.5% alchohol tasted on 31st Oct 2007.
Grape: Chardonnay
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Ouch!
Cost: Usually between $96.00 - $280.00.
Looks: Very golden and yellow and intense in colour. Full looking.
Smells: Massive and intense. Pears, honeydew melon and peach with slight vanilla.
Feels: Medium in body
Tastes: Massively long. Pears and honeydew melon, with slight vanilla and a chewy, nutty finish of cashews and almonds. This is by far the greatest Chardonnay I have ever tasted - it is so intense and full of flavour that it borders on the ridiculous! My god this wine is good...
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site, Winestar.
