Amon-Ra By Ben Glaetzer Unfiltered Shiraz 2005
Made by Glaetzer Wines in Australia (region: Barossa Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14.5% alcohol tasted on 31st Oct 2007.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Ouch!
Cost: Usually between $89.99 - $115.00.
Looks: Very dark black in colour and quite full looking - lots of colour sticking to the glass!
Smells: Black and red currants awesome power and fully tarry
Feels: Full bodied!
Tastes: Barossa Shiraz to the max - this is a big wine, but one with a lot of freshness and finesse as well. Plums and red and black currants as well as some full cocoa and tar. Very intense powerful finish and very soft velvety tannin. There is a very slight heat on the finish, but it does not detract from the wine at all. Stunning.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Cellar Door / Web Site, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, Winestar.
