Hardy's Oomoo Shiraz 2006
Made by Hardy's in Australia (region: McLaren Vale)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alchohol tasted on 26th Dec 2007.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Below Par
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $14.99 - $18.99.
Looks: Dark black colour with a full body
Smells: Tar, licorice and plums
Feels: Full bodied
Tastes: I try with this wine, I really do. So many praise Oomoo for its quality for a song. But, I just don't get it. It is full of olive, licorice and some black fruits, but it just is not for me. The alcohol sits out front with a hot finish, there is not much spice, and it is a little short. Tannins are gruff and tight. I can drink it, but I don't really enjoy it.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Liquorland, Nick's Vintage Direct, Dan Murphy's, First Estate, Kemeny's, 1st Choice.
