Shaw And Smith Shiraz 2004
Made by Shaw And Smith in Australia (region: Adelaide Hills)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alchohol tasted on 25th Dec 2007.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Very Good
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $38.99 - $46.99.
Looks: Dark red purple with a medium to full body
Smells: Hmmm. White pepper, red and black fruits
Feels: Medium to full bodied
Tastes: Wow, they are onto something here. Reminds me in mouthfeel, weight and the white pepper of Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier in the last few years - so that is a good thing! Not as complex as that, but lovely black and red berry fruit, good length and enough gruff in the tannins to make it chewy. Nice!
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, 1st Choice.
