The Mallea By Majella 2001
Made by Majella in Australia (region: Coonawarra)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 13.5% alchohol tasted on 31st Dec 2007.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz
Quality: Very Good
Value: Ouch!
Cost: Usually between $69.99 - $79.99.
Looks: Very dark with a brick red glow to the edge - medium bodied
Smells: Orange peel and cooked berries
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: Bursts with black Cabernet fruit and green tomato leaf flavours, giving way to a burnt orange like flavour and a long length. Very soft velvety tannins and a real eucalpyt edge. Nice wine, but I would drink it now.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, 1st Choice.
