Coldstream Hills Chardonnay 2006
Made by Coldstream Hills in Australia (region: Yarra Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 14% alchohol tasted on 29th Dec 2007.
Grape: Chardonnay
Quality: Very Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $24.99 - $28.99.
Looks: Pale gold, with an oily medium body
Smells: Peaches, pears, grapefruit and a slight hint of wood
Feels: Medium, but nicely oily in texture
Tastes: I have a slight thing about Coldtream Hills - to me, their wines always taste a little "wine by numbers" - not really that interesting. Not this time - this is pretty nice! There is a grapefruit zing that makes this freh and interesting, and the oak handling is very good - letting the fruit speak but lining it in a nice background tone of vanilla and cream. Good length.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Cellar Door, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, 1st Choice.
