Crooked River Arneis 2006
Made by Crooked River in Australia.
A dry, still, white wine with 12.5% alchohol tasted on 2nd Jan 2008.
Grape: Arneis
Quality: Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $18.99 - $19.99.
Looks: Very pale with a slight green edge and light looking
Smells: Grassy and grapefruity
Feels: Light
Tastes: A while back I posted a challenge for anyone who has a decent Aussie Arneis to let me know - simply because I had never tasted one that took my fancy. Well, here is the best I have tasted to date. Grassy and grapefruity. with good length and a real zing, this is a decent alternative to overly herby Sauvignon Blanc's around. Length is on short side, but still - I enjoyed this wine, and that is saying something!
Possible retailers: Cellar Door.
