Pewsey Vale Riesling 2007
Made by Pewsey Vale in Australia (region: Eden Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 13% alchohol tasted on 15th Jan 2008.
Grape: Riesling
Quality: Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $16.99 - $18.99.
Looks: Clear and bright with a hint of green at the edge - very light looking
Smells: Floral and citrussy - smells juicy if that is possible
Feels: Light
Tastes: I have a real fondness for this label. It was the wine that woke me up to the fact that Riesling was where it was at! In recent times the label has not produced outstanding juice, but it is still consistent. Lemons and talc through and through with a fair finish and a real sour hit at the end. Not punchy or direct in its acidity like Riesling can be - but good easy drinking.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Dan Murphy's, First Estate, Kemeny's, Winestar, 1st Choice.
