Wendouree Muscat Of Alexandria 2004 / 2005
Made by Wendouree in Australia (region: Clare Valley)
.
A sweet, still, white wine with 15% alchohol tasted on 29th Jan 2008.
Grape: Muscat
Quality: Very Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $19.99 - $19.99.
Looks: Quite pale gold in colour, and slightly oily in body - but still lighter than you expect
Smells: Sweet smelling, with a grapey lift - but fresh and lemony
Feels: Full oily body - but refined
Tastes: This is the goods. For those confused, my advice is to slightly chill this, but not too much. It has good sweet grapey fruit that travels through the mouth, and then some lovely lemon zest tones that keep it fresh and not cloying. Length is really quite long. This was an unexpected pleasure from a producer more well known for its ballsy reds.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door.
