Thorn-Clarke Quartage 2006
Made by Thorn-Clarke in Australia (region: Barossa Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alchohol tasted on 31st Jan 2008.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Cabernet Franc Malbec Petit Verdot
Quality: Good
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $24.99 - $26.99.
Looks: Dark in colour, but not overly full looking - more medium full.
Smells: Black fruited, slight oak
Feels: Medium to full bodied
Tastes: Good zip of acid on the front, but finishes quickly. Black berry taste and very slight cocoa oak hangs on longer than the freshness. But, tannins and good and chewy and this is a well made wine. Solid buying, and found in a lot of places too!
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, Winestar, 1st Choice.
