SCORPIIION Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
Made by SCORPIION in Australia (region: Barossa Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14.5% alchohol tasted on 2nd Feb 2008.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Quality: Okay
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $29.00 - $29.00.
Looks: Dark in colour, but medium in body
Smells: Blackcurrant and mint
Feels: Medium - perhaps bordering on some fullness
Tastes: Worth noting that this wine is a blend of fruit from McLaren Flat and Barossa. This is cabernet - black currant and black berries and all. And it has decent freshness, albeit with a slight minty edge. So why is it confusing me? It is not particularly intense, nor has it got great length. The tannins are sandy and interesting without being too green. But there is not much else going on - it is like it has entered its 'hole' at a young age! The flavours are inviting and easy to drink mind you, but there is not quite enough complexity or interest.
