Sylvan Springs Hard Yards Shiraz 2005
Made by Sylvan Springs in Australia (region: McLaren Vale)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14.5% alchohol tasted on 3rd Feb 2008.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Very Good
Value: Very Good
Cost: Usually between $10.00 - $13.99.
Looks: Dark red purple, and full bodied
Smells: Ripe fruit and choc
Feels: Full bodied
Tastes: Now this is the ticket! Ripe fruited shiraz with a lovely line of earth and acidity and black pepper. Not too much olive taste, but it is there in nice balance. Zippy, round and plush at the same time with good meaty tannins. Solid in length too. And then...and then I look at the price. Surely a misprint. No? Well well...Santa has come late to us!! What a sensational wine for so little money...
Possible retailers: Squashedgrape.
