Yering Station Shiraz Viognier 2006
Made by Yering Station in Australia (region: Yarra Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14.5% alchohol tasted on 5th Feb 2008.
Grape: Shiraz Viognier
Quality: Very Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $24.99 - $26.99.
Looks: Very dark purple in colour. Full bodied, with extreme colour.
Smells: Violets and pepper - and a ripe hint of cherry.
Feels: Full bodied
Tastes: This is such a solid performer. Mouthful of cherry and plum fruit, but not overripe - with black and white pepper and an overt juicy feel to it from the Viognier. This one has a solid dollop of violets to it - maybe slightly too much. But I can't complain, because many others wont!
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, BWS, Dan Murphy's, First Estate, Kemeny's, 1st Choice.
