Hollick Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2004
Made by Hollick in Australia (region: Coonawarra)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 13.5% alchohol tasted on 7th Feb 2008.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
Quality: Okay
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $28.99 - $32.99.
Looks: Dark purple, but not as deep as some - with a medium full look to it
Smells: Black berry and slight green sappy note
Feels: Medium to full
Tastes: This is tasting like such a young pup - I cannot imagine how fierce it would have been at a younger age! Ripping acidity that is slight green and sappy, nice sandy tannins and some decent black berry fruit. Length is ok. Not the greatest of Coonawarra Cab wines - but not the worst either.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, 1st Choice.
