Old Mill Estate Rosé 2007
Made by Old Mill Estate in Australia (region: Langhorne Creek)
.
A dry, still, rosé wine with 12% alchohol tasted on 11th Feb 2008.
Grape: Touriga
Quality: Very Good
Value: Good
Cost: Usually between $18.00 - $18.00.
Looks: Lovely crimson, but not too deep - light bodied
Smells: Lightly musky and floral - strawberry and raspberry
Feels: Light
Tastes: This surprised me no end. Not sure why, but when I read that this was Touriga I expected a mouthpuckering dry tough drink. On the contrary - this is light and easy - elegant and subtly. Strawberry and raspberry fruit, lovely light lines of acidity and quite a long subtle finish. I could have drunk much much more...instantly up in the upper echelons of pink wine in Australia.
Possible retailers: Squashedgrape.
