Old Mill Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Made by Old Mill Estate in Australia (region: Langhorne Creek)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 15% alchohol tasted on 12th Feb 2008.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Quality: Okay
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $20.00 - $20.00.
Looks: Dark purple colour, and a full bodied look to it
Smells: Black fruit all over with a bit of tar
Feels: Full bodied
Tastes: Even though this is an extremely young wine, it is thoroughly aggressive at the moment. The acids are crunchy almost. Black fruit and tar with licorice to boot - but not much complexity and not much length. Tannins are pretty gruff too. Needs a good few years to settle - but might still be too green.
Possible retailers: Squashedgrape.
