Marsh Estate Chardonnay 2007
Made by Marsh Estate in Australia (region: Hunter Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 12.5% alchohol tasted on 6th Mar 2008.
Grape: Chardonnay
Quality: Below Par
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $25.00 - $25.00.
Looks: Light to medium bodied and with a real flas of green in colour
Smells: Green, possibly almost eucalypty edge
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: I might be doing this wine a slight disservice by reviewing this early in its life. However, let's do it anyway! A real green edge - eucalypty and almost asparagus - is going on here, and it is very zingy and young. Length is fair. I can imagine matching this to some interesting fatty cheeses and getting some good results. But, in the end, this wine is so different from what a Chardonnay should be that you get a little confused to be honest!
Possible retailers: Cellar Door.
