The Grapes Of Ross Black Rose Shiraz 2006
Made by The Grapes Of Ross in Australia (region: Barossa Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 15.8% alchohol tasted on 4th Apr 2008.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Very Good
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $28.00 - $30.00.
Looks: Deep intense purple black, with a heavy look to it
Smells: Full vanillan ripe plummy fruit
Feels: Heavy!
Tastes: There is definitley a hit of vanillan oak straight up - and it hangs on the length of the wine for quite a while as well. Yet, the ripe plummy fruit does cope quite well even though the oak is so apparent. The black pepper and spiciness adds lovely character. I really think this wine will come together in another year in the bottle. The fruit was quite obviously first rate. A real Barossa brute - and proud by the taste of this!
Possible retailers: Squashedgrape.
