Howard Park Western Australia Riesling 2007
Made by Howard Park in Australia (region: Great Southern)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 12.5% alchohol tasted on 5th Apr 2008.
Grape: Riesling
Quality: Very Good
Value: Good
Cost: Usually between $18.99 - $24.99.
Looks: Clear and bright, with a light looking body and very slight green edge
Smells: Fresh and zesty - quite ripe citrus and a mineral edginess
Feels: Light
Tastes: Being a Howard Park Riesling fan, I have to say that this is the best Howard Park in quite a while. The citrus is quite zingy and full of mandarin and lemon rind, with a round edge of minerality holding it all together. Good length. If those austere dry as all get out Clare Rieslings are not for you, then try this one - it may well be right up your alley.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, BWS, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, Winestar, 1st Choice.
