Pirathon Barossa Shiraz 2006

.
A dry, still, red wine with 15% alchohol tasted on 15th Apr 2008.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Very Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $22.00 - $24.00.
Looks: Inky black and quite thick looking
Smells: Lovely plummy fruit that gives way to a savoury spicey tone
Feels: Full bodied - verging on thick!
Tastes: Wow, what an impact this has! Jets into your mouth with vibrant plum and cherry fruit, and lovely choc and coffee coating. Nice savoury tones and a long long finish with nice black pepper. Tannins are soft and velvety, but are there enough to make a really nice mouthfeel - verging on chewiness. This wine is a cracker, fair and simple.
