Killawarra Premium Australian Brut NV
Made by Killawarra in Australia.
A dry, sparkling, white wine with 11.5% alcohol tasted on 14th Nov 2004.
Quality: Okay
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $7.99 - $11.99.
Looks: Yellow golden, with the ever-present large bubbles of pretty much all cheap sparklers.
Smells: Fresh yeasty / bready nose with a touch of capsicum.
Feels: Light, with a big bead!
Tastes: A sweet, almost pineapple syrup flavour that would be a little disconcerting but for clever acid balance and good yeasty characters adding texture. Finishes a little short. Very solid competitor at a bargain price that outperforms wines of double the price.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Theo's, BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Liquorland, Porters, Dan Murphy's, First Estate, Kemeny's.
