Tamburlaine Hunter Reserve Member's Syrah 2006
Made by Tamburlaine in Australia (region: Hunter Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 15% alchohol tasted on 9th May 2008.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Okay
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $29.99 - $36.99.
Looks: Dark colour, slightly see through but only just, and a full body
Smells: Pepper and earth nose, with some hot berry coming through as well
Feels: Full bodied
Tastes: Hmmmm. The alcohol is a little overdone on this one, hiding some of the earth and spice that you would expect from a Hunter Shiraz. Tannins are chewy and interesting, and length is ok. Just would have been nicer with the heat reigned in.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door.
