Seppelt Mount Ida Heathcote Shiraz 2004
Made by Seppelt in Australia (region: Heathcote)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14.5% alchohol tasted on 16th May 2008.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Good
Value: Ouch!
Cost: Usually between $39.99 - $52.99.
Looks: Very black colour - full bodied looking as well
Smells: Dark dark and dark - licorice and a hint of...tomato?
Feels: Full bodied - but actually only just. Lighter than it really appears
Tastes: One word - black. Black fruit, licorice, tar. And then - whammo, tomato bush invades the senses. Tannins are nice, although slightly green tinged. Pepper tones are there. But this wine is a love it or hate it style I think - some will love the black dark fruit, others will ask for more fruit, spice and interest. And less tomato.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, Winestar.
