Tahbilk Marsanne 2007
Made by Tahbilk in Australia (region: Nagambie Lakes)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 12.5% alcohol tasted on 4th Aug 2008.
Grape: Marsanne
Quality: Very Good
Value: Very Good
Cost: Usually between $12.99 - $16.99.
Looks: Light in body and a strangely light green tone to a light gold colour
Smells: Fresh, closed nose of fruit salad
Feels: Light
Tastes: This wine is always a hard nut to crack. So well priced, lovely to drink - but it is almost reluctant to let its flavour out at times. Search and be rewarded. Fruit is not the main element here although the nice fruit salad tones are good. The light body has a deceiving element of oiliness that fills the mouth. Already a little dried grass or hay is starting to show which hopefully will become toast and honey with age. I back this wine.
