Knappstein Enterprise Shiraz 1998
Made by Knappstein in Australia (region: Clare Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alcohol tasted on 15th Jan 2005.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Very Good
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $32.99 - $46.99.
Looks: Red brick, still with a vibrant young look. Quite inky and heavy.
Smells: A steady nose of dry earth, pepper, vanilla and plum.
Feels: Nice and big.
Tastes: Ripe, dark berry fruit with nice pepper overtones and a good, dry spice edge. Hot and long on the finish, but not uncomfortable. A great line of dry cocoa wood as well.
This is a very smart wine.
Possible retailers: BWS, Cellar Door / Web Site, Nick's Vintage Direct.
