Greedy Sheep Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2008
Made by Greedy Sheep in Australia (region: Margaret River)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 12% alcohol tasted on 15th Feb 2009.
Grape: Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
Quality: Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $16.00 - $16.00.
Looks: Clear, bright and light with a very slight pale gold colour
Smells: Grass and unripe apple
Feels: Light
Tastes: This is still an upfront acidic young Sav/Sem blend, but with apple and grass to the fore. The good thing is that the grass is not too green - in fact it is already slightly more to the hay side. I can actually picture this aging nicely over 5 years, which is strange for the blend in Australia. Nice wine, and very much needs to be eaten with pan fried scallops as suggested on the label. (My god! A label with a good food suggestion for the wine! Incerdible!)
