Kooyong Chardonnay 2006
Made by Kooyong in Australia (region: Mornington)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 13% alcohol tasted on 9th May 2009.
Grape: Chardonnay
Quality: Okay
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $29.99 - $34.99.
Looks: Very pale gold colour, and medium if that in body
Smells: Fresh grapefruit tone
Feels: Medium
Tastes: The style is there, the statement is not. A good, fresh mineral style of Chardonnay with very good restrained use of oak and no real presence of creamy/buttery tones. Lean and tight, and almost a little steely this does not quite have the finish and culture of a contender. But something worth watching with the next few vintages.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site, Dan Murphy's, 1st Choice.
