Kalleske Clarry's Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2008
Made by Kalleske in Australia (region: Barossa Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14.5% alcohol tasted on 5th Jul 2009.
Grape: Grenache Shiraz Mataro
Quality: Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $18.00 - $18.00.
Looks: Dark purple colour, with a full look
Smells: Quite a sweet fruited nose, with a little heat
Feels: Full bodied, almost thick
Tastes: Good value wine this one, year in year out. It is certainly a full, sweet almost cloying style without much acidity to give it backbone, however for those occasions thatcall for it, it really does the job. Sweet red fruit on the cherry and plum side, good mouthfeel and a fair length with a bit of heat on the finish.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, 1st Choice.
