Lake's Folly Cabernets 2007
Made by Lake's Folly in Australia (region: Hunter Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 13% alcohol tasted on 16th Jul 2009.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Petit Verdot
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $55.00 - $95.00.
Looks: Dark purple colour, but very much a medium body
Smells: Blue and blackberry;s and some spice
Feels: Medium
Tastes: I could not be happier at the quality of this wine. Pure was the first word that came to mind. It is heading into a sleepy period in its development already - the berry tones dominate at the moment. But the spice and tannins are sublte, balanced and will build a great shell in this wine over the years. The depth of flavour is pronounced, yet this is a wine reserved by nature. The contrasting terms are not confusion - this is just a wine that is all class.
