De Bortoli Premium Reserve Cabernet Merlot NA
Made by De Bortoli in Australia.
A dry, still, red wine with 13% alcohol tasted on 4th Aug 2009.
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
Quality: Okay
Value: Good
Cost: Usually between $14.99 - $16.99.
Looks: Dark purple colour though not opaque at all and medium bodied
Smells: Mainly red berry fruit, with a hint of blueberry and oak
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: This is the pick of the casks for red wine. Incredible wine for not much money. Combination of red and dark berry tones that are sweet and very soft. But - this is matched with great tannins that are sandy and dusty but give interest and body to the wine. Length is decent and without any sour notes. Honestly - this could easily be sold at more money in a bottle for sure.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Liquorland, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, 1st Choice.
