Meerea Park Hell Hole Shiraz 2006
Made by Meerea Park in Australia (region: Hunter Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 13.5% alcohol tasted on 11th Aug 2009.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Very Good
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $46.75 - $55.99.
Looks: Dark crimson colour, not too deep, with a medium body
Smells: Leather, spice, raspberry that is just off ripeness
Feels: Medium
Tastes: Yum. Lovely Hunter shiraz in grand Hunter tradition. A true medium bodied wine with intense flavours. Earthy, leathery, peppery and with a good gritty tannin structure, this screams for meat while still retaining some good raspberry fruit tones and a nice line of acidity holding it together. Good stuff indeed.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site.
