Meerea Park Hell Hole Semillon 2009
Made by Meerea Park in Australia (region: Hunter Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 10.5% alcohol tasted on 12th Aug 2009.
Grape: Semillon
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Good
Cost: Usually between $21.25 - $25.00.
Looks: Pale and clear, and very light looking in body
Smells: Citrus, apples and grassy without being too green
Feels: Light
Tastes: Serious juice. This is lovely. Let me contradict myself a little by saying it is intense and acidic, without being powerful. This will age very nicely thank you very much. Fresh lemon and apple acidity, caged with a fleshy tasting package of grass - but not green Sauvignon grass, I'm talking slightly brown hot Hunter grass! Finish is long and smooth. Forget your seafood and go chicken and mushrooms on this one.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site.
