Coldstream Hills Pinot Noir 2003
Made by Coldstream Hills in Australia (region: Yarra Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 14% alcohol tasted on 31st Dec 2004.
Grape: Pinot Noir
Quality: Good
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $23.99 - $26.99.
Looks: Light red, with a heavyish look to it but still transparent in colour.
Smells: Restrained with a dry earthiness, red berry and toasty characters.
Feels: Light, but heavy enough to be coating.
Tastes: Burst of red fruit and cherry with good coating of wood rounding the flavours. Flavour lingers for quite a while. Pretty complex, but still in a style that European critics would call "fruit bomb." The alcohol is something you can taste.
Is still a member of that rare club - good Aussie Pinot!
Possible retailers: Woolworths Liquor.
