De Bortoli Sacred Hill Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2008
Made by De Bortoli in Australia.
A dry, still, white wine with 11.5% alcohol tasted on 24th Aug 2009.
Grape: Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
Quality: Below Par
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $3.99 - $7.00.
Looks: Very pale and light looking, almost blue/green flashes in colour.
Smells: Green grass and asparagus
Feels: Light
Tastes: No real refineness here, and not really any fruit either. Having said that, it is fresh and lively with a real green grass and that asparagus tone. It actually has some length too. I can't say it is a wine I would choose again, but it is drinkable and it is not altogether unpleasant.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, BWS, Woolworths Liquor, Liquorland, Dan Murphy's, Kemeny's, 1st Choice.
