Some Young Punks Monsters, Monsters Attack! Riesling 2009
Made by Some Young Punks in Australia (region: Clare Valley)
.
A Off-Dry, still, white wine with 10.19% alcohol tasted on 27th Aug 2009.
Grape: Riesling
Quality: Very Good
Value: Okay
Cost: Usually between $29.99 - $29.99.
Looks: Clear and bright, and very light looking
Smells: A slightly sweet citrus tone, and maybe a little talcum powder
Feels: Light
Tastes: I have to say, I did fall for the label with this one. And lucky I did. To start, it is a very good thing for a producer to be making a style of Riesling that is very light in alcohol and has some residual sugar retained. When done right, this style is very welcome. This has good madarin citrus tones, the sweetness is not overdone, and it fairly evaporates on the tongue. Certainly not a power wine at all - watch what you eat with this or it will disappear.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site.
