Tamburlaine Reserve Chardonnay 2008
Made by Tamburlaine in Australia (region: Hunter Valley)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 13.5% alcohol tasted on 7th Sep 2009.
Grape: Chardonnay
Quality: Outstanding
Value: Good
Cost: Usually between $19.99 - $26.99.
Looks: Pale gold colour, medium bodied
Smells: Classic Chardonnay - sweet fruit salad with a real creamy oak tone over the top
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: Good wine - very good wine. In fact, sneaks into a rating I have not given this label before. Great fruit tones, with brilliant use of oak. Creamy, buttery but with a good line of acidity through the middle. Complex spice and earthy tones, a little hint of mushroom that I would suspect would get more prominent as it ages. Congratulations guys - well played.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site.
