Tamburlaine Reserve Chardonnay 2008
Made by Tamburlaine in Australia (region: Orange)
.
A dry, still, white wine with 13.5% alcohol tasted on 8th Sep 2009.
Grape: Chardonnay
Quality: Very Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $19.99 - $26.99.
Looks: Very very pale gold, medium bodied
Smells: Nice grapefruit tone, with a hint of creamy oak
Feels: Medium bodied
Tastes: Tamburlaine are now officially doing some very good things with Chardonnay. This wine maybe is still a wine of two parts - not quite integrated between the cage of creamy oak and the acidic grapefruit and kiwi fruit tones. I expect it to settle down though - and I think it will become a very good wine, if not as good as its Hunter brother. Keep an eye on it.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site.
