Fox Gordon Eight Uncles Shiraz 2006
Made by Fox Gordon in Australia (region: Barossa Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 13.5% alcohol tasted on 12th Sep 2009.
Grape: Shiraz
Quality: Good
Value: Above Average
Cost: Usually between $18.99 - $23.99.
Looks: Dark black red colour, fairly full bodied
Smells: Ripe round plummy fruit - coffee
Feels: Full bodied
Tastes: A little firmer in the mouth than a lot of Barossa shiraz, with a coffee/mocha flavour and a decent plummy fruit. A slight hint of a metallic sheen on the wine that is not too distracting from the other flavours - in fact it sort of gives the wine a 'spine.' Length is fair. Decent drop, well priced with current deals at VC's.
Possible retailers: Vintage Cellars, Cellar Door / Web Site, Kemeny's.
