Wendouree Malbec 2006
Made by Wendouree in Australia (region: Clare Valley)
.
A dry, still, red wine with 13.5% alcohol tasted on 14th Sep 2009.
Grape: Malbec
Quality: Outstanding
Value: A Little Excessive
Cost: Usually between $42.99 - $99.99.
Looks: Good dark crimson colour, with a medium to full look to it
Smells: Lovely - good mulberry fruit with a hint of dark cherry
Feels: Medium to full bodied mouthfeel
Tastes: Lovely wine. Solid spine of acidity and firm, crunchy tannins. Having said that, it is still easy to drink right now - although I would love to see it with some years under the belt. Fruit is vibrant, complex and racey - mulberry and dark berry. A nice hint of smoke and very very subtle cedar tone. Length is long and strong. Great wine.
Possible retailers: Cellar Door / Web Site, Auction.
